I don't expect this to be completey finished until there is a community around PlanetPhysics, however some basic types are needed. Please add suggestions.
Sergiy Pereverzyev (mathforever) suggested the following in PP forums:
I would like to discuss the types which are used for PP-entries. For the moment the types of the entries in PP corresponds to the types used in PM, i.e.
Axiom Corollary Definition Data Structure Result Conjecture Example Biography Topic Application Derivation Proof Theorem Algorithm
Let us group these types according to some criteria.
BASIC THINGS: Axiom Definition Biography Topic
what is missing in the above list is Law - Like Newton's law, Hooke's law, Planck's law, etc…. Experiment - Like Michelson-Morley experiment
DERIVED THINGS: (in the sense that the information located in below types is derived from information in the BASIC)
Derivation Example Application
Theorem Conjecture Proof Corollary Result
The types which are ussual for math but probably are not needed for phys:
Data Structure Algorithm
***************************
So, to summarize, one needs Law, Experiment type and could throw "Data Structure" and "Algorithm". There are probably also other types which are specific for phys and I have missed, but Law and Experiment should be added, and some existing entries should be already typed as Law instead of Theorem.
I like the suggestions, but I would not throw away Algorithm for sure, since computational physics can use it. Data Structure is a maybe, but I will keep it around just in case. --bloftin
pbruin suggested adding types physical quantities and units. --bloftin
To add new types I did the following:
1) In Config.pm line 32, I added
use constant LAW=>27;
2) Added entry for single characters to represent types
line 271: 27=>'l'
3) Added typestrings
line 299 27=>'Law'
This is all I did, and need to know if there is more.
