Copying AsteroidMeta

• Get Oddmuse running (it's easy to do). Obtain and install a copy of the Oddmuse:Usemod_Markup_Extension.
• Make sure you have LWP::UserAgent.pm installed (it is in libwww-perl for Debian or Fink users).
• Obtain the Oddmuse:wikicopy script and make sure it is pointing at perl, is executable, and is in your path.

Then run the appropriate variant of

  wikicopy -i 'http://planetx.cc.vt.edu/AsteroidMeta?action=index;raw=1' \
              'http://planetx.cc.vt.edu/AsteroidMeta' \
              'http://examplehost.com/cgi-bin/wiki'

You can do this at regular intervals to maintain a mirrored version of the site. E.g. I have the following in my crontab:

  59 11 * * *  /Users/arided/bin/wikicopy -i 'http://planetx.cc.vt.edu/AsteroidMeta?action=index;raw=1' 'http://planetx.cc.vt.edu/AsteroidMeta' 'http://localhost/cgi-bin/wiki'

AsteroidMeta currently has 188 pages of content. It is getting pretty big. I would like to request that it be moved to a more permanent location with better backup solutions asap. Thanks, --jcorneli
