conjugate index

For p,q, 1<p,q< we say p and q are if 1p+1q=1. Formally, we will also define q= as conjugate to p=1 and vice versa.

Conjugate indices are used in the Hölder inequalityMathworldPlanetmath ( and more generally to define conjugate spaces.
