Maybe an old joke

Mary told Jack "I love you a hunderd times greater than Alice loves you" and Alice told him "I love you a thousand times greater than Mary"

so Jack, assuming that both girls told the truth, has the equations:

Mary = 100 Alice

Alice = 1000 Mary,

which is in the matrix form:

[1 -100 [Mary [0

=

-1000 1] Alice] 0]

thus Mary = Alice = 0 is the only solution, which is called a trivial solution. That is, if both the girls are true, they'r both true trivially.
