A mathematician,a physicist & an engineer...

A mathematician, a physicist and an engineer went to the races and laid their money down. Commiserating in the bar after the race, the engineer says, "I don't understand why I lost all my money. I measured all the horses and calculated their strength and mechanical advantage and figured out how fast they could run..."

The physicist interrupted him: "...but you didn't take individual variations into account. I did a statistical analysis of their previous performances and bet on the horses with the highest probability of winning..."

" if you're so hot why are you broke?" asked the engineer. But before the argument can grow, the mathematician takes out his pipe and they get a glimpse of his well-fattened wallet. Obviously here was a man who knows something about horses. They both demanded to know his secret.

"Well," he says, "first I assumed all the horses were identical and spherical..."

I think this mathematician guy was lucky. The course HorsesI is impossible to approve! From there his absurd secret: identical and spherical!

Here's one I heard recently, some of you might have heard it before: "What do you call a mathematician who can't cope with the abstraction? A physicist!"

a drink-engineer too...

Speaking of abstraction... a student asks his mathematics professor, "How do you visualise R^4? I can't imagine 4-dimensional space!". The professor replies, "Easy. Just visualise R^n, then put n=4".

Well Ryan (and nice to know you!),
"Mathematics is like water. They flow naturally. It is abstract as colorless is water, they adapt to any recipient and combine with any other "substance". They also present the same "anomaly": when solid expand. Without both life may not exist."
Pedro A. Fernandez

I think ryangarg05 is a spammer.

He claims not to be a spammer...and yet...
1. His user page contains the words "drill bits" which click through to some site I haven't visited,
2. His IP address reverse translates to some ISP in the Philippines, although his home is listed as "Edison, NJ"

If you are not a spammer, you need to convince us further.

A mathematician, a physicist & an engineer walk into a bar. The bartender look up and asks, "What is this? A joke?"

Hey lvoyster, why do you think these 3 guys are disjoint? NASA doesn't think so. Yes, I know it's a joke, but it's really bad one.

An infinite number of mathematicians walk into a bar. The first one orders a beer. The second orders half a beer. The third, a quarter of a beer. The fourth, an eighth of a beer... the bartender says, "You're all idiots" and pours two beers.

That's an authentic good joke! Simple? Doesn't matter! But it's good, at least for me.

BTW, I think it is by darkgently!

Hey my dear darkgently, here we go with a more stupid joke.
What does mean factoris(z)ation?
A cannibalism where prevails the gcd.

Haha, no I can't take the credit for this joke. I read it on the internet some time ago... can't remember exactly where.

Well darkgently it's not strange for me it has appeared in Internet. After of all it has some logics. Honestly I thought it was "my original". I haven't taken it neither from Internet nor any other media.

The oyster part of my name is because I like Yiddish jokes. The LV part is because I live in Las Vegas. I bring this up because, especially in Las Vegas, the general population seems to believe that educated people are stupid. It seems to me that the point of these "a mathematician, a physicist, ..." jokes, even the ones that are really funny, is "Look how stupid these 'smart' people are"; and it annoys me.

No I don't think that these three guys are disjoint. I know that I suck at physics but am a competent mathematician. I know people that excel at all three fields. I don't think that being good at math and bad at physics makes me stupid and I certainly don't think that being good at all three things makes that person even stupider.

yeah, a really funny..don't know that there's something like this one..

funny.. my friends enjoys reading all the stuff was really enjoying...

Hi Angelique (I suppose you're woman, if not so, please "excuse mois")
So do you like PM mathematicians stuff? That's good!
By the way Angy, Kansas City doesn't belong to KS but to MO. Strange, don't you? Maybe for that reason the capital of KS is Topeka.
What about those patches? They truly work? As my height is only 5'9" and my weight is above 180lbs, I want to loss some weight. Please let me know.

The roles of the mathematician and the physicist are reversed in this joke.

Mathematician rocks..:D ..can't help but laugh..that's a pretty cool math humor..hope to read more of it..

Hmm..Actually,..I don't get what this mean..not makes me smile even... Don't get really

LOL, crazy with this one...I let my friends read this and were all laugh with this..
